If you're looking for a "vibrant and modern" restaurant that picked up two awards less than a year since its first opened, then look no further.
The Whisky Café, in St Ives, has quickly established itself as one of Cambridgeshire's most talked-about dining destinations.
Built on the site of the former Robin Hood Pub, on Market Hill, this impressive restaurant is the brainchild of Samuel Purchas.
It combines a menu of "globally inspired dishes" with a "beautifully decorated" art deco-inspired interior that reviewers can't get enough of.
From duck rillette and hay baked beetroot carpaccio to maize fed chick supreme to lamb rump, there's something for everyone.
And with a first-floor restaurant, champagne bar, garden room and newly-opened distillery room for wine tasting, it's no wonder guests keep coming back.
It's perhaps unsurprising that The Whisky Café was voted as New Restaurant of the Year for 2025 at the Prestige Awards in London.
If that wasn't enough, it was also the recipient of the E2 Media Award of Excellence 2025 as the Restaurant and Bar of the Year Awards.
'Gem of a place'
With an impressive 4.1 out of 5 on Tripadvisor, the restaurant has received 30 'excellent' ratings so far.
One guest said: "Gem of a place to grab a quick drink, sit down meal and/or anything in-between.
"Staff are always super helpful, polite and smiley, which shows in great service across the board.
"Food is always top drawer and drinks the same, it really is hard to fault and somewhere we always enjoy and return too."
Another added: "Excellent. Service great. An allergy menu with lots of choice. Had a light lunch and food was exceptional.
"My friend and I had a really great experience at the Whisky Café. We thought we would treat ourselves as it’s Christmas, and a treat we definitely got!
"The food was truly exceptional, the atmosphere was lively without being loud and the service was friendly and efficient. I cannot wait to go back."
