A new barbecue smokehouse restaurant promising a taste of the American South is set to open in Cambridgeshire in just two weeks time.
Hickory’s Smokehouse will launch its newest branch in Hampton, Peterborough, on Friday June 19, expanding its network of family-friendly barbecue restaurants across the UK.
Central to the menu is barbecue cooked in traditional smokers imported from Tennessee and Missouri, serving up 16-hour smoked Texas-style brisket, Memphis ribs, smoked wings and Smokehouse platters.
Other dishes include burgers, salads, vegetarian and vegan options, brunch served daily until 2pm and indulgent desserts including the restaurant's famous Freakshakes.
John Welsh, managing director at Hickory’s Smokehouse, said: "The countdown is officially on and we're incredibly excited to be opening our doors in Peterborough on June 19.
"Every Hickory’s is built around great food, genuine hospitality and becoming part of the local community.
"We've created a place where families, friends, neighbours and visitors can come together to enjoy authentic low 'n' slow barbecue, Southern-inspired hospitality and memorable experiences."
Designed with families and community in mind, the new venue features family booths, group celebration areas, a neighbourhood bar, an outdoor dining terrace and a dedicated Sportsbook area for live sports on big screens.
Younger guests can enjoy the restaurant’s movie room and the Fro-Co Creation Station, where they can customise their own frozen custard desserts.

Hickory’s Smokehouse was founded more than 16 years ago after a road trip through America’s Deep South.
The company continues to draw inspiration from regular travels across the Southern States, collecting recipes and techniques to ensure an authentic American barbecue experience.
The group is also committed to giving back, having raised more than £700,000 for Cash for Kids over the past nine years, alongside ongoing support for schools, charities and community organisations.
