A UK food wholesaler has issued a recall for one of its products as the packaging is missing allergen information.
Dundeis UK Ltd is recalling Minton & Donello Organic White Orzo because it fails to declare the wheat (gluten) it contains.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) says the pasta product “contains wheat making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten or with coeliac disease.”

The affected item is a 500g pack with batch code 78850 78850 78850 and the following best before dates:
- January 31, 2027
- May 2, 2027
- May 24, 2027
The FSA issued a ‘do not eat’ warning: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten or with coeliac disease, do not eat it.
“Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
Dundeis UK Ltd said: “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”

What is a food recall?
The FSA explains what a food recall is: “If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).

“In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued.
“This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.”
