Police have issued an update after a Fenland road was closed due to a car fire.

Emergency services rushed to the A141 Isle of Ely Way, near March, at around 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday August 20).

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said yesterday: "We were called to a car fire on the A141 at Doddington this afternoon at 4.22pm.

"A crew from Chatteris is in attendance."

Images from the scene and live traffic maps showed delays building along the road, which was temporarily closed.

In a statement today (August 21), a police spokesperson said: "We were called at about 4.30pm yesterday with reports that a car was on fire on Isle of Ely Way, Wimblington.

"No injuries were reported, the fire was extinguished and the vehicle was recovered.
