A proposal to build a new primary school in Wisbech has received the backing of Cambridgeshire County Council.

The Brooke Weston Trust’s application to build a 420 space primary school in the grounds of the Thomas Clarkson Academy, which would open in September 2016, was backed by Cambridgeshire County Council’s Children and Young People Committee at a meeting on Tuesday.

The Brooke Weston Trust will apply to the Department of Education for £7.8million funding for the project. The deadline to apply for funding is October 10.
