WISBECH teenager Eleanor Teasdale is officially one of the brightest students in Britain.

The 18-year-old recorded five A grades at A-level in law, maths, further maths, statistics and physics. She also scored one of the top five national marks on her Statistics paper.

Eleanor, known as Elly, took the A-levels at the College of West Anglia's campus in King's Lynn and said she was shocked to find an acceptance letter from Cambridge University on her doormat.

She will be starting at the Gonville and Caius College in October to study for a maths degree, after passing Cambridge maths tests with flying colours.

College of West Anglia staff were thrilled with Elly's results and said it was a tribute to her hard work as well as that of the staff.
