A DIAMOND couple were given a 'This is Your Life' presentation in pictures as part of celebrations for their 60th wedding anniversary.

Roland and Joyce Dedman, from Eastrea Road, Whittlesey, were shown the DVD slideshow at the Somerville House restaurant in Terrington St John on Sunday.

It was made for them by Claire Ward, their youngest grandchild, and her husband Darren who live in Battle, East Sussex.

Joyce said: "It went right through our lives, from when Roland was a boy me as a young girl. It was most interesting."

Roland, 81, and Joyce, 79, have two children, John, who lives in Battle, and Jennifer Amps, who lives in March. They also have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The couple met during the Second World War in 1944 and married on August 31, 1946, at St John's Church in March.

Spells living in Littleport and Benwick followed before moving to Whittlesey in 1973. They have lived there ever since.

Roland spent 25-and-a-half years as a police officer and a further 16-and-a-half years as caretaker at the Alderman Jacobs Primary School, Whittlesey, before retiring in 1989.
