Residents, their friends and families, and staff of Askham Place, in Doddington, held the first fund-raiser for their newly-formed friends group.
About 60 people attended Saturday's barbecue at the nursing home, in Benwick Road, which looks after people aged 18-65.
Ticket sales and a raffle helped to raise about £125 for the Friends of Askham Place, which is going to save money to take residents on trips.
- The Friends of Askham Place meet at the home, located behind Askham House, on the second Thursday every month. People are also sought to visit the home for a couple of hours and speak, or play games, with residents. For more information, contact Rose Hoffman, activities organiser, on 01354 740269.
