More than four miles of queuing traffic on A14 towards Newmarket following accident

An accident on the A14 towards Newmarket has caused delays of up to 90 minutes with around four and a half miles of queuing traffic.

Traffic has been temporarily halted at J36 - J37, while the emergency services deal with the collision on the A14 eastbound this afternoon.

Highways England East tweeted a picture showing dozens of vehicles lined up.

@HighwaysEAST said: “Approx’ 4½ miles of queuing traffic. Long delays. @roadpoliceBCH @NSRoadsPolicing

“We’ve helped the emergency services to clear the collision, J36 - J37. But it’ll take time for the long delays to ease.”
