POLICE investigating a crash which killed two young sisters on the A47 near Wisbech are trying to trace the driver of a red car.

Tamzin and Jessica Portor, aged 10 and seven, from Sutton Bridge, died as a result of their injuries after the collision, which happened at 6.40pm last Thursday.

A black Ford Focus left the road and overturned at Walsoken, coming to rest on its side at the edge of a ditch. It happened about 500m north of the Broad End Road junction as the car travelled towards Wisbech.

Officers from Norfolk Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) are keen to speak with the driver of a red car, which was seen travelling towards King’s Lynn around the time of the incident.

Anyone with information should contact senior investigator Steve Matthews at SCIT on 101.

The girls’ 12-year-old brother Liam suffered minor injuries in the accident, along with their 38-year-old father Allan Portor, who was the front seat passenger.

The 43-year-old female driver of the car, not the girls’ mother, also suffered minor injuries.
