SINCE the end of September the club has been raising funds for MAGPAS. Pamela Roche, assisted by Elizabeth Goodley, ran a cake stall which made £200. Nancy Allen, Janet Ward and Jean Frost organised a bingo evening. Caller was Carole Manning; Joyce Edwards and Bret Curzon sold the books. The event raised £261.50. Chairman Margaret Kleyn welcomed everyone to the October meeting and introduced new member Liz Ferris. Secretary Eileen Leeman and treasurer Elizabeth Goodley gave their reports. Members were reminded that the outing to Newmarket in July 2007 will be open to non-members. It would be useful to know, by the November meeting, of any relaltives and friends who are interested. The Christmas lunch will be on Tuesday, December 19 (12.30 for 1pm). A menu will be available at the November meeting and the treasurer will collect the money then. Members were given a list of equipment needed for the November programme. Local poet Lorna Lunn read her amusing poem about the September quiz night. Margaret Kleyn and Sally Gibson introduced members to tassel making. They paid for the materials which Sally donated. The speaker's fee was also donated to the charity. The event raised £70 for MAGPAS. Refreshments were served by Sheila Forth, Val Goodger and Rene Forth. The raffle was organised by Carole Connor and Eileen Leeman.
