POLITICAL activist and poet Len Baynes has been elected to the International Society of Poets. The chairman of Fenland's UKIP branch has also been contacted by publishers, both in the UK and America, interested in his work."I write about anything and everything," he said. "I've never had this kind of recognition before when it comes to my work. It has all happened at once, and I hope it will lead to great things."Mr Baynes, of Bradshaw Court, March, has been writing poems since he was a youngster. His work is published in four different anthologies. Twelve of his poems are on the internet and he has written a book entitled Thoughts of Me.For him to become a member of the poets' society, his work was studied by a panel of judges based in America.Mr Baynes, now working on his second book, More Thoughts of Me, added: "It's nice that people think what I write is worth reading."I don't sit down and write a poem. These are just thoughts which come to me. It a boost to know people think that what I write about is worth reading.
