ENTRANTS in this fancy dress competition held in March in 1966 had obviously worked hard to impress the judges with their costumes.
The competition was just one event at a bazaar at March Congregational Church held to raise money for the church heating fund.
There were lots of visitors and the fund was boosted by £108 which helped to clear the outstanding bill for the installation of electric heating of the church.
The fancy dress competition was organised by Mrs B Minett. Winners were: Under eight years - Linda Fox (Halloween witch) and Martin Lancaster (World Cup footballer); eight years and over - Elizabeth Minett (Saxon) and Christopher Pauley (Mr Do-It-Yourself). Judges were Mrs O L Inglett and Mr C Tolliday.
