All in a day’s work for fire fighters as they tackle a van deliberately set alight in Cambs village

Fire crews tackled a blazing van that had been deliberately set alight.

A fire crew from Dogsthorpe was called to the fire on Thorney Road in Eye, Peterborough, yesterday.

A fire service spokesman said: “Firefighters arrived to find a van well alight. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 3.20pm.

“The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
