Pupils at All Saints Academy built and fired rockets yesterday.
The school has been celebrating National Science Week with activities and competitions. This year’s theme is Let’s Get Moving! It’s all about the science of how our bodies move and the importance of keeping them fit.
Children worked in their house teams to build and launch rockets, make moving models, learn moving magic and record how their bodies react to exercise.
Science coordinator Holli Baumber said: “It was absolutely brilliant. The children were buzzing and the parents were saying what a wonderful day it was.
“It’s great, with this week’s science theme, that we’ve had the eclipse today. The pupils went outside to watch it.”
