A festive feast of fun at Cavalry Primary School raised £1015.

A large number of staff stayed late to set up the stalls, decorate the hall and put the finishing touches to Santa’s grotto. Year 5 children have been working so hard with Amy Ellis to make the games and activities and the hall looked very festive.

Headteacher Mrs McCallum said: “All the children in Year five should be very proud to have organised such a successful event – the whole school had a magical day and it has started our countdown to Christmas in a most enjoyable way.

“Thank you to everyone who made this such a special day for the children, and to parents for their support.”

During the morning, all the younger classes had a chance to visit the stalls and activities.

“With Christmas music in the background, there was a constant buzz of excited voices,” said Mrs McCallum.

“Children chose Christmas presents for family members and tried to win a giant teddy bear.

“From the Lucky Dip to the Hoopla game, every stall seemed to be busy.”

Younger children had the chance to visit Santa in his grotto and in the afternoon it was the turn of the older classes.
