Children from Anthony Curton Primary School in Walpole St Peter and their sister school, Tilney All Saints, got together for a day of fun and games to celebrate becoming part of the Diocese of Ely Multi Academy Trust (DEMAT).
There was a joint service in the packed church of Walpole St Peter, where the choirs of each school sang separately.
Then, a joint school choir got up to sing a song they had made up themselves, and had recently sung at Ely Cathedral.
The special guest was Andrew Read, chairman and CEO of DEMAT, who then joined the two schools on the Tilney site for a festival of dance, performed by children from both schools. There was also traditional Maypole and Molly dancing.
After lunch there was an afternoon full of fun and games and children’s entertainer Mick Bass provided bouncy castles, crazy golf, a Victorian skittle alley, hammer strikers and Punch and Judy.
