ON Sunday at noon I ventured into Wisbech town centre and was appalled by the state of the market place.

The white plastic barrier units were scattered randomly about and vehicles were parked on both sides (north and south) of the market place. Pedestrians were wandering about as if the previous traffic order prohibiting vehicles was still in place. This situation is certainly not what we were promised when Wisbech Town Council took over.

I returned later in the day and little had changed, apart from fewer vehicles being ‘illegally’ parked. The area resembled a Wild West frontier town with the tumble weed replaced by litter. Come on town council, show us what town centre management is really all about. We want a clean, tidy and orderly Wisbech and deserve and expect nothing less.
