DETECTIVES are re-appealing for the public's help in tracing a man who may be able to help with enquiries into an armed robbery.

The robbery took place in November, 2005, when a substantial amount of cash was stolen.

At about 10.15pm on Friday, November 25, three masked men targeted a Securicor van which was delivering four cases of cash to an ATM machine near the Tesco store on Hostmoor Avenue, March.

The van driver was hit over the head from behind by men armed with what was believed to be a sawn-off shot gun and a pistol. Two shots were fired into the air and the weapons were pointed at members of the public to warn them to stay away.

Each of the men wore balaclavas and made off in a red Volvo estate which was later found and discovered to have been stolen.

Detective Sergeant Dave York, who is re-issuing this appeal for help, said: "This armed robbery took place nearly a year and a half ago but I believe the man pictured may be able to help with our investigation and it is vital that we speak to him.

"If anyone has any additional information about this robbery, or if anyone recognises the man in the photograph, please contact me immediately.

"This is a very serious offence and any information may help this investigation."

Anyone with any information should contact Det Sgt York at Wisbech Police Station on 0845 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
