Dozens of church-goers from around Fenland united in praise and prayer for a special ‘Cherishing Our Past, Building Our Future’ session.
23 people from the United Joint Benifice of St. May, Doddington, Benwick and St. Peters in Wimblingdon came together at the Bricston Rooms in Chatteris for the day organised by Richard Holding.
The venerable Hugh McCurdy, the Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech, led discussions on how the group can move forward when they welcome their new priests – Rev. Cannon Ian Brady and Rev. Linda Brady – later this summer.
Churchwarden Peter James said: “It is so important for us all to come together to discuss the way we all move forward in this ever changing world.
“We all need a real sense of direction and we have been extremely lucky to have been able to have had such a positive conversation with our Archdeacon.”
The day was ended with the Archdeacon cutting a cake.
