An investigation has been launched after a suspected acid attack in Wisbech – the victim did not sustain serious injuries.

A huge contingent of police – some armed – surrounded the house in Norwich Road, Wisbech, after receiving reports of the alleged attack.

The road was closed and police surrounded the house once having gained admission.

Police confirmed “a substance was thrown” at the female victim but there were no serious injuries.

No arrests have yet been made although information is being sought by Cambs Police on 101.
