Also attending were Royal British Legion county president Colonel Colin Elsden and Mayor of Whittlesey, Councillor David Mason.

Branch affiliation enables members to work together with youth organisations, such as army cadets, on fund-raising projects.

Lieutenant Kevin Twidale said: β€œIt’s a great privilege and opportunity for the cadets to be associated with the Legion, one which will benefit us both for many years to come.”

To date, the legion has set up 914 affiliations, including 414 with the Army Cadet Force units across the UK.
