Cadets, aged 12 to 18, from twenty eight detachments across the county, including March, Wisbech and Ely, took part in activities such as climbing, archery and firing on the range.

The ‘cadet experience’ also included living in a field for two nights, a confidence course, riding motorbikes, signal and first aid training and the obligatory drill.

Colonel Mark Knight MBE, commandant from Wisbech St Mary, said: “It was a cracking camp with many cadets trying new things for the first time, enjoying the challenge, making new friends and coping without mum.
