Arrest made after 59-year-old man is assaulted while sitting in his van in March Tesco’s car park

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 59-year-old man while he sat in his van in Tesco’s car park in March.

The incident happened at the supermarket in Hostmoor Avenue at around 4.50pm on Friday.

A man parked in front of the victim before approaching his red Mercedes Sprinter van, opening the door and assaulting him. The victim suffered minor injuries.

A 51-year-old man from Ely was arrested and has been bailed until March 3. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
