Arsonists set fire to a digger in Kings Dyke, Whittlesey on Saturday evening.

Crews from Whittlesey and Stanground were called to a plant hire company in Kings Dyke at 8.40pm.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and returned to their stations by 10.58pm.

“The cause of the fire was deliberate,” said a Cambs Fire spokesman.
