Arsonists strike in March and Pondersbridge

Arsonists have struck twice in the space of 48 hours, targeting a house and two lorries.
At 3.03am on Sunday, one crew from March, one crew from Chatteris and one crew from Whittlesey were called to a house fire in The Greys, March.
This was a fire in the kitchen area of a detached property, which was heavily smoke logged.
All of the residents were out of the property on the arrival of the fire service.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels, a jet and positive pressure ventilation fans to extinguish the fire by 4am.
The kitchen was extensively damaged and the rest of the property was badly damaged by smoke.
Crews returned to their stations by 4.40am.
At 7.50pm on Friday, one crew from Stanground and one crew from Dogsthorpe were called to a fire in the open in Milk and Water Drove, Pondersbridge.
Two lorry trailers, each about 44ft long, were on fire and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish them.
Crews returned to their stations by 10.15pm.
The cause of both fires are believed to deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
