PUPILS and staff at Meadowgate School, Wisbech, have been celebrating the receipt of their Artsmark Silver award.

The award is given to schools that demonstrate a commitment and enthusiasm for all aspects of the arts.

Over the year pupils at the special school have been involved in numerous activities, including drama sessions with Linda Ekins and Street Dance workshops with Alison McLatchie, which culminated in a performance at the Isle campus of the College of West Anglia, attended by nearly 200 people.

Following continued successes over the years, the school is making a bid for Specialist School status over the forthcoming months. This will involve forging even stronger links within the community and includes the demanding task of raising £20,000.
