ASHLEY Dean, 18, an NVQ3 plumbing student at the College of West Anglia, won the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering Trophy at an awards ceremony in King's Lynn.
Ashley, who lives in Elm, is an apprentice at Monksfield Plumbing and Heating in March. He was judged by his tutors to be the outstanding student on his course. In addition to his trophy, he received a voucher for £150 donated by the King's Lynn branch of plumbers' merchants Plumbase, a framed certificate and a copy of the Plumbing Engineering Services Design Guide, worth £40 and a year's student membership of the Institute.
Ashley will be returning to College in September to continue his studies for a further two years. He said he was "pleased and excited" to have won the award.
