AUTHOR Rosemary Westwell celebrated the publication of her book, ‘John, Dementia and Me’ at a gathering at Burrows Bookshop, Ely on Thursday.
The shop was crowded with visitors and the books soon sold out, prompting a reprint to be ordered.
The story is based on the relationship between Sally, her husband John and his dementia, set in the picturesque environment of the Cambridgeshire Fens.
John’s disease overwhelms him and he is hospitalised but, no matter how awful their experiences, Sally is convinced that the bond between them as a couple remains.
The book will be available from this week at Burrows Bookshop, 9 High Street Passage, Ely and from North Staffordshire Press (www.northstaffordshirepress.com).
