TWO members of Girlguiding March District Trefoil Guild have been awarded the Bronze Level of the Discovery Award.

The national award aimed at the over 50’s is composed of four projects: Service in the Community, Hobby/Interest, Recreational Pursuit and Discovery Challenge. There is a progression through three ascending levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold, similar to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Margaret Bird researched her family tree, was a driver for a community car scheme and photographed village signs whilst Pauline Miller chose cake Icing, a visit to New England USA and community care. Both ladies also joined a keep fit class.

The award was presented by Barbra Kippax the Regional Award Co-ordinator at a meeting of The Guild. These ladies are the first Members of the March Guild to undertake the award.

The Trefoil Guild has over 20,000 members nationally, anyone interested in joining the Trefoil Guild should contact the county office on 01223 813917 trefoilguild@cambseast.co.uk
