He has agreed to play for the over-60s again in Wisbech St Mary in November.

Walsoken village hall was packed on Tuesday (August 23), with 110 visitors making it one of the most successful Golden Age events ever.

Sean’s hour-long performance featured a string of golden oldies, including Lonnie Donegan’s My Old Man’s A Dustman, Que Sera, Sera, and Cliff Richard’s Living Doll.

He was joined on stage by Andy Cornwell, one of Fenland District Council’s New Vision Fitness centre managers, for a Hokey Cokey duet and finished off with a rousing version of When The Saints Go Marching In.

Councillor Mike Cornwell, the council’s Cabinet member responsible for Golden Age, said: “Sean went down a storm. He definitely brought something new to the event and helped to make it a huge success.

“It was great fun as well as being an opportunity for people to benefit from all the varied services on offer. We’re delighted he’s accepted our invitation to perform again when we visit Wisbech St Mary on November 23.”

The Walsoken event brought together 27 organisations that offer services to the over-60s, including social and sporting clubs and healthcare agencies.

The Fenland Ferret was also on hand to give benefits advice. It succeeded in identifying an entitlement worth nearly £1,400 per annum for one individual.

Visitors came from as far afield as Downham Market. They included Kip, a heart-melting Labrador puppy being prepared for a career as a guide dog.
