Some of Fenland’s most beautiful gardens will be on display to raise funds for Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice.

Wisbech St Mary Open Gardens, an annual event showcasing spectacular gardens to enthusiastic gardeners and visitors, takes place on Saturday, July 5 from 10am-5pm.

Most of the gardens are within easy walking distance of each other and range from large open landscapes to container and cottage gardens.

There is something for everyone including fruit and vegetable plots, a wild flower garden, a collection of more than 300 cacti and succulents, an online weather station, ponds and water features.

Refreshments are available at most gardens from tea and cakes to homemade pizza cooked on a wood fired outdoor oven.

Look for the gardens displaying a large orange flower. Entry to all 10 gardens is £3 and tickets are available at any garden, under 16s are free.

Free programmes with a map are available from Tourist Information Centre, Library, Etcetera in Wisbech, Long Acre Garden Centre, Else Furniture and Store, Bisla Convenience Store and JS Holmes in Wisbech St Mary, and at all participating gardens, located on High Road, Station Road, St Mary’s Close and off Churchfield Way.
