A huge thanks has been sent to people in March for raising thousands of pounds for this year’s Poppy Appeal with the total already standing at £22,522.86.
Kay and Alec Larham, honorary Poppy Appeal organisers said: “Thank you to the people, to all the businesses who supported our appeal this year, to Sainsbury, Lidl and Tesco for allowing our volunteers in store.
“To our army of volunteer collectors, our street collectors who braved the cold once again and our house to house collectors, to the band concert committee, Linda and Terry Stevens at March Braza Club who helped us organise the poppy dance and to everyone who supported those events, to the staff at Lloyds Bank who help with the counting and last but not least to the people of March for their continued support and generosity.”
With £22,522.86 raised to date in March it is hoped the amount raised will exceed last years total of £22,889.59 for March Royal British Legion funds.
