A fun-packed, fund-raising day for Billy Lee had a massive boost when the event began with cheques totalling £4,900 from local groups.
Presentations came from Wisbech St Mary Football Club, the Wisbech Masons, Wisbech Lions and a Wisbech children’s charity.
One of the event organisers, Marina Norris, said: “The generous donations got the fund raising off to a fantastic start.
“It was a lovely day, a good turn out and everybody had fun. I want to say a massive thankyou to everybody for supporting the Billy Lee Facebook page as the support of members makes it every easy for me to run it.”
The fun day saw brave folk fire walking, craft stalls, a fun dog show, face painting and refreshments.
Next on the money raising calendar is a pamper evening followed by two balls.
The pamper party is at Top to Toe in Wisbech on Thursday September 24. Tickets cost £15.
The first ball is at Thomas Clarkson on Saturday October 10 and the other is at Wisbech St Mary Community Centre on Saturday October 24.
