Fifteen lay ministers were licensed by the Bishop of Huntingdon, Dr John Inge, at Ely Cathedral today (30th September 2006). Ten of the licensed lay ministers are newly trained; the remaining five were re-licensed. They will take up the vital task of teaching and preaching in churches across the Diocese of Ely.

The ten new licensed lay ministers are:

Keith Stott, Derek Tombs, Jennifer Tombs and Isobel Wickens who will serve in the Cambridge South area; Patricia Latimer, Anthony Perryman and Janet Tiplady who will serve in the Huntingdon area; and Stevie Brooks, Vivienne Bull and Anne Clarke who will serve in the Wisbech area.

Those tranferring from other dioceses are Alan Hay and Lesley Bowring from Canterbury diocese; and Alison Atkins and Stephen Makin from Lincoln diocese; Paul Sibley from Ely diocese also had his license renewed.
