A body has been found in a Cambridgeshire lake after a man in his 30s went missing while swimming at the open waters.
Officers received a report on Saturday (June 30) that the man had gone missing from Crown Lakes in Farcet, near Peterborough.
The police dive team were brought in and tasked with locating the man and on Sunday (July 1) a body was recovered from the water.
Cambridgeshire Police are treating the incident as “non suspicious” and coroners will now be taking over the case.
Det Sup Martin Brunning told the BBC that the man had been with his girlfriend and another person at the time.
A spokesman said: “We would urge people, despite the weather, not to go swimming in open water and unsupervised as you do not know what dangers there are - colder water, rocks beneath the surface etc.”
Helicopters, along with crews from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, were called to assist police at the scene.
