Human bones that were found near a pathway in the cemetery of Chatteris Parish Church are from an ancient grave and are not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Officers were called at 7.30pm on Monday to the Church of St Paul and St Peter in Market Hill.
The entrance to the car park on Church Lane was also sealed off yesterday morning.
A police spokesperson said: “Further tests are being carried out on the bones to establish their exact age.
“However, the incident is not being treated as suspicious, as it is believed they are from an ancient grave.”
