WHITTLESEY St John Ambulance are now in the postion to purchase and update more life-saving equipment after receiving a cheque for �452 from Whittlesey Manor Bowls Club.
The voluntary service has received almost �1,400 from the bowls club over the past three years following charity bowls tournaments held in memory of former stalwart member Peter Bavister.
The latest cheque was handed over by Peter’s widow Margaret and the money will be used to replace training mats.
Whittlesey Manor Bowls Club secretary Melvyn Beck said: “Having been part of the local community for fifty years, the club has been delighted to provide much-needed funds to enable the local St John Ambulance to purchase and update life-saving equipment that will be of special benefit to local people.”
Whittlesey St John Ambulance superintendent Pauline Richards expressed her gratitude to the club for their continued support.
She said: “ We are extremely grateful to be the chosen charity for the third year and sincerely thank the kind generosity of all involved at the bowls club for their much valued support.”
