A TEENAGE boy has been left devastated after the bike he had been given as an early Christmas present was stolen from outside a Wisbech home.
The youngster’s family have released a picture of the Mongoose BMX which the 13-year-old had been given as a joint Christmas and birthday present.
The boy had helped his friend back to his home in Sherwood Avenue after he had fallen and hurt himself playing in Waterlees Park.
He left the bike outside the home but it was gone by the time he left the house at 6.20pm on Sunday, December 9.
PC Michelle Bax, investigating, said: “He had been given the bike as a joint Christmas and birthday present and is devastated that it has been stolen.
“He only left it unattended for a few minutes while helping his friend.
“I would urge anyone who has been offered the bike for sale or seen it being ridden around the town to call police.”
Anyone with any information should call PC Bax on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
