CLEVER of the chaps at the council to come up with a new way of boosting income – by charging new home owners for a wheelie bin.
This ‘wheelie’ tax means anyone building a new home or renovating an old one with no bins will have to pay �60 for the set of three you need.
Also under discussion, too, is another ‘tax’... this time on providing street names and numbering for new developments.
“Officers are currently researching the potential to introduce charging for this,” noted a helpful report issued to councillors this week.
