AMONG candidates vying for the vacancy on Cambridgeshire County Council caused by the death of Councillor John West are two former Fenland District Council officers.
District councillor Peter Tunley and Mike Cornwell were among hopefuls attending last night’s selection meeting.
Expectations that the by-election might be postponed until the May local elections were dashed when the Tories ‘triggered’ the poll earlier this week, meaning voters in March West go to the polls on March 3 to find his replacement.
