PICTURED in 1967 were the four men who had been in charge of Barclays Bank, March, since it opened as a branch.
The photograph was taken at the Griffin Hotel and the men are, from left, Mr R W Garrett, Mr P R Hill (new manager), Mr C Francis and Mr S E Middleton.
They had gathered for a presentation by past and present staff to Mr Garrett, who was retiring that day, having been at the March branch since November 1957.
Mr Garrett was presented with an electric drill and attachments. The youngest member of staff, Miss C Miller, presented Mrs Garrett with a bouquet.
The presentation was followed by a dinner party hosted by Mr and Mrs Garrett, who were moving to Hethersett, Norfolk.
