Wisbech Rock Festival WILL go ahead today after it was switched from Wisbech Park to the Queen Mary Centre.

Organisers hope to have the party under way by 1.30pm and it will continue until 8pm.

The free festival is organised by Wisbech Town Council who, until today, didn’t think a contingency for weather was needed!

Councillor Jonathan Farmer said: “It is, after all, August and you don’t normally get this sort of weather.”

He said he was delighted the Queen Mary Centre had stepped in and offered to host the festival – with a capacity of 300 to 400 it won’t hold the numbers who normally attend.

Headline acts are Two Tone and Five Ska, but there’s also the chance to catch Gifford, Catch 22 and Rattleshack.

The event will be hosted by comedian Drew Cameron.
