A bull is still on the loose after escaping from a farm in Benwick on Monday.

A young Hereford Bull, which is described as having a brown body with a white head and white belly, was spooked by other farm animals and jumped over a fence.

He has been micro chipped and could have wandered some distance from home. Local farmers and landowners have been actively searching for him since his disappearance and Countryside Watch has been alerted.

PSCO Sally Mitchell said: “It may be that he has fallen in a ditch alongside a field somewhere. Please do not approach this animal as he may be frightened and unpredictable and would need expert handling.”

If you see the bull, call police on 101 but do not approach him.
