EIGHTEEN-year-old Michael Smith burgled his father's business premises because his dad had sacked him and "made him an outsider in the family".Smith broke into East Anglian Mobility warehouse at March by forcing a window, and stole three car keys which he threw into the river. He also took a cash box containing £225 from a filing cabinet, and stole some cigarettes."He wanted to annoy his father," Samantha Woolley, prosecuting, told Fenland magistrates on Tuesday.Smith spent the cash, smoked the cigarettes, and destroyed some receipts. The teenager, of Station Road, March, admitted burglary, stealing items valued at £2,268.Smith had telephoned his father's Marina Drive premises on August 25 last year, and asked if any help, was needed, said Mrs Woolley. He was told no, because he had been dismissed. The premises were left secure that night, and the burglary was discovered the next morning.Smith initially denied any involvement, but his blood and finger prints were found on the premises."He was annoyed with his father, because he had made him an outsider in the family," said Mrs Woolley. "He broke the window and cut himself. The keys had cost £2,000 to replace."Asking the court to adjourn sentencing for a report to be prepared, defending solicitor John Clarke said: "Although there was no ransacking, there was a problem with the keys being thrown away. "The owner of the cars, a shareholder in the company, had to change the locks on the cars."The court adjourned sentencing the trainee cook until February 28.
