MARCH residents are being urged to be vigilant after a woman was targeted by distraction burglars who pretended to work for a phone company on Saturday.
Two men and a woman claiming to be giving everyone free broadband knocked on the door of the home in Stephenson Close, March, at about 2pm.
They asked to check the phone line then stole a door key while the victim was distracted.
Several other people in the area complained that they had similar doorstep callers around the same time.
One of the men was described as six foot, slim to medium build, in his late 20s to early 30s and with short black hair.
The other was six foot, slim to medium build and wore a black jacket.
The woman was 5ft 8inches with red hair and was wearing a long dark coat.
Detective Constable Mark Yendley said: “I would urge people to always ask for identification from doorstep callers and to never let people into their homes if they have any concerns about them.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
