FENLAND District Council has added considerable value to tenants in its South Fens Business Centre in Chatteris as well as local Fenland businesses, by providing offices for Business Link, the regional business advice and information service.
Business Link will be moving into South Fens Business Centre in the middle of this month as part of the council's commitment to local businesses. Business Link advisers will be on hand for businesses to pick their brains on business issues.
The Business Link team is made up of experienced business professionals who understand business problems and challenges and can provide information and advice to help take a business forward.
The Information and Intelligence Centre is there to answer any business question and if necessary signpost to further assistance. For those who require more one-to-one advice, a business adviser will visit a client's office free of charge and provide a diagnostic of their business needs.
In addition to this there is a full programme of workshops and seminars covering a vast range of business subjects, most of which are free of charge or very heavily subsidised.
Business Adviser, Duncan Margetts lives locally and has plenty of experience of working with Fenland businesses. He said: "We are very grateful to Fenland District Council for offering us this office space as it enables us to provide the best possible service to businesses in the Fenland area.
"We are keen to meet as many local businesses as possible, to work with them to help them grow and develop, and being in such a central location will make this so much easier to achieve."
Councillor Alan Melton, portfolio holder for 'open for business', said: "We are delighted that Business Link will be moving into South Fens offices. The Business Link service is valuable to local businesses - helping the advisers to be more accessible is something Fenland District Council is pleased to be a part of.
