PUPILS are sitting pretty after a builder gave them some new playground benches.

Fenland house builder Cannon Kirk created the stylish natural log benches for a child storytelling area.

The seats were made out of trees the company had to cut down to make way for new properties at its Highfields development.

Cannon Kirk said it was a perfect opportunity to give something back to the environment and enhance the scenery at Littleport’s Millfield Primary School.

Chief executive Michael Broughton said the new Highfields development was “carefully planned as a modern take on traditional village development”.

He added: “Our ultimate aim is that it will become a thriving community of its own, contributing to high quality of life for residents.”
