Stainless Metalcraft has secured a £3.6 million contract to supply components to a top power generation company.

The Chatteris-based business will make fabricated stator frames – which house part of the rotary system that keeps magnetic fields aligned – for a range of Cummins Inc’s electricity generators.

The contract runs over three years and the frames will be produced at a dedicated production facility in Fenland.

Austen Adams, managing director of Stainless Metalcraft, said: “The contract is great news for Metalcraft and reflects well on the reputation for quality and delivery we’ve developed over recent years.

“When I joined the business in 2014, our forward order book stood at just £10 million but this contract takes that figure over £100 million, securing skilled jobs in the local area.

“The addition of another long-term contract is consistent with our strategy of building a portfolio of strong commitments and represents a significant step forward for the business in the energy market.”
