A frozen food firm in Wisbech has assured staff that jobs are safe after they were asked to take four days off in the run up to Easter.
Around 62 staff have been asked to take the time off from Fountain Frozen in order that the factory can carry out maintenance work and also switch to different packaging under new legislation.
The firm at Salters Way, which makes frozen onion rings, took the decision to make the most of a lull in the market and combine it with the Easter holidays to give a chance for routine minor maintenance work.
Director Kevin Wilshire said jobs were safe and added: “We have picked a time when it’s least impactful.”
